Ronnie Bond

Ronnie Bond (born Ronald William Bond, 1940-1992) was an English drummer and a founding member of the rock band The Troggs, which gained prominence in the 1960s. The Troggs are best known for their raw, proto-punk sound that blended elements of rock, pop, and garage rock. Their most notable works include the iconic hits "Wild Thing," "With a Girl Like You," and "I Can't Control Myself." Bond's drumming style was characterized by its straightforward, driving rhythms, which complemented the band’s energetic and often rebellious sound. The Troggs were influential in the development of punk rock, with their simple yet powerful musical approach laying the groundwork for future bands in the genre. In addition to his work with The Troggs, Bond's distinctive sound and presence contributed to the band’s legacy, which continues to resonate in the music of artists influenced by the garage rock and punk movements.
